I ended up reading this collection of books because I bought the fever series bundle & loved it so much that I wanted to read EVERYTHING Karen Marie Moning had to offer.I'm Not a fan of the romance genre. I was actually embarrassed to have the cover on the carousel of my kindle fire. Regardless of my usual disdain for the usually format style writing of romance novels,(man & woman meet, hate each other passionately or due to some long standing feud, couple ends up loving as passionately as they had hated... The end.
These stories were not written like that. The character's were quirky, original,& realistic. There was of course the erotic scenes that as a younger person gave me a very unrealistic idea of what to expect from the basic male ( I felt the first guy I was with was terribly lacking & must have had a awful time in gym class lol.
Seriously though each one of the novels in this bundle had me laughing out loud, blushing when I was reading them in public because I was so engrossed in the stories that I walked around with my e-copy of this in hand & considered the world & all it's inhabitants a distraction to my reading.
When I finished the last story I literally felt like I had been spat back into my apartment , that my fiancé was not nearly romantic enough & that there may be some fun in reading romance novels after all. The price was great, the fact that you get it minutes after you order it is brilliant and the new "bundle" possibilities are always something I seek out. There is nothing better than not having to wait a year for the next book in a series. I would highly recommend this book to fans of the "Fever Series" by Karen Marie Moning which I also discovered thanks to an email for "people who bought "x" item have also purchased this item. I'm very happy with the price & the days of enjoyment I received from buying and reading "the highlander series bundle"

One of the best highlander love story series I have read. I have these in paperback and spent more money getting the kindle edition so I will always have them available where ever I go.
I love this series.. I posted that the characters are developed, some are, some not so much. depends on which book your in. but if Highland Warriors who love modern day independent women mixed with fae magic, is your flavor, you'll enjoy the the time travel and the Celtic magic of hot romance in this series.
The Highlander Series 7 book bundle was exquisite. It touched every emotion, I laughed out loud, I cried like a child, my heart experienced everything in between. Parts left me feeling inspired, others left me saying, "WHAT?" I will retread this again and again. I'm anxiously waiting for the rest of the stories.
Don't ask me to pick my favorite because I could never do that. I first read the fever series and was changed forever with that story. I needed more KMM so I read this series. It's just fantastic. Each story has such great banter and I loved each couple from every book. Now I need to re-read the fever series because now that I know who the Druids actually are, it will be neat to see them introduced in that setting again. Thank you karen!! For another beloved series!
I have read and re-read this series several times and always seem to come away with something I missed in the previous half a dozen reads. I think it's because things are brought up in the future books in the series, (The Fever series, and the Dani O'Malley books), and there are so many twists and turns in the storyline. Another thing I love about this series is the fact that Phil Gigante does the audio. I love his Scottish burr. This series has the whole package for me. Hunky MacKeltar highlanders, castles, history, contemporary, time travel, fantasy and romance. Seriously. Who could want or ask for more!
TL DR / It's highly enjoyable and great if you like romance novels.
The language is sophisticated and the writing makes you, by the last book, feel like you're watching a movie play out. If you're into romance novels, or wanting to be, this is the perfect series to read. What makes it especially excellent, for me, are the strong women that can be both girly and tough. They feel more realistic. They are intelligent, not always rail thin, and are quirky in their own ways ... but none of them lose their innately feminine characteristics. So often when you hear "strong female roles" in movies or books these days ... you get a woman with a jaded attitude, leather jacket, and a tomboy take on life. Just because a woman is strong, doesn't mean she HAS to take on stereotypically "male" characteristics. Not enough books tell that story... this one does well. Overall, it's one of my favorite series.
Morning has done a wonderful job of pulling her readers into each individual highlander's life leading you on an impossibly fantastic journey as the each find their true mate. I have enjoyed these books! I have had this collection for a few years and go back to re-read them. Though they are all written as stand alone stories they are interwoven as the characters in each one meet in later stories. Enjoy the adventure with these Scottish Highlanders and their women
