Naturally 7 – „The Band Without a Band“ Uses imagelooop Slideshows

Naturally 7, the band without a band from Brooklyn, New York is on tour throughout Europe, the U.S. and Japan on the back of their successful album “Ready II Fly”. N7 create a full band sound with just their voices! If you ever have the chance to see or rather hear (!) them perform live, go to their show. Even seeing and hearing them perform live it is hard to believe that they create their fantastic sound with just their voices.

They proofed their high quality as excellent musicians, when they performed the German No.1 hit “Music is the key” together with Sarah Connor. And right now they are back in the charts of several European countries, including France, Germany and Italy with their version of the Phil Collins classic “In The Air Tonight”.

And the next career highlight is coming up: They will play the legendary Montreux Jazz Festival in July, on behalf of a personal invitation of festival director Claude Nobs and sharing an evening with Van Morrison! What more could you ask for?

Good for us: The band presents itself with an imagelooop slideshow on their website:

In addition, they have upgraded their MySpace presence with imagelooop slideshows:

We are proud to work with this wonderful band! And we sure look forward to more of it.

All Systems ready again!

Done: Since 7am today imagelooop is back online with full functionality. We exchanged the damaged storage system, the new one is - according to all tests we run so far - working flawless. And our users have already started to upload plenty of photos and create great slideshows again. Have fun with that, and we hope that we will be able from now on to meet the ever increasing usage of imagelooop. We are looking forward to that.

The colleagues in charge of our technology have worked an intense night shift and went to a very well deserved sleep late this morning. Thanks to them and to our users for being patient with us.

Imagelooop server back online - delay of the maintenance work, part 2

10 days ago we moved our server systems into a new computer center and
onto new machines to enable us to cope with the ever growing
requests of imagelooop slideshows, providing them reliable and fast.

In order to be on the safe side we decided to completely replace the
damaged storage system which we had discovered during our maintenance work.

This process takes a little longer than expected. Full
functionality will be available again tomorrow morning, Wednesday, March 14, 2007.

In the meantime all existing slideshows are being played, on imagelooop.co.uk as well as those embedded on external websites.

Creating new slideshows and making changes on existing ones will be
possible again tomorrow morning.

Thanks for your understanding!

Daniel

Addendum (March 13, 2007 3:30 p.m.):

In order to shorten the maintenance time and to stay in line with the given timetable admin team decided to take the website offline for the next few hours.

Delay of System Maintenance

During our maintenance work we discovered an error within our storage systems. Right now we are in the process of solving this technical problem.

During this time we deliver the existing slideshows from our backup-system, therefore it is currently not possible to create and edit slideshows.

We will be back online with all functions on Tuesday.

Thanks for your understanding!

Daniel

System Maintenance

We just decided to start some system maintenance tasks for our website right now.

Please revisit our website tomorrow morning.

All externally embedded slideshows will continue playing without disruption.

Thanks for your understanding!

imagelooop expands Server Systems for further Growth

Every day more and more users sign up with imagelooop because they want to enjoy the benefits of cool slideshows, e.g. by embedding them into their MySpace profiles.

No doubt that we at imagelooop are more than happy about this substantial user growth. At the same time this has impact on our server systems – they are exposed to ever increasing traffic.

In January we decided to prepone the final step towards total scalability to the first quarter of 2007.
Thus we moved our server systems last Sunday night. We are ready now for further growth as we have:

  • a load-balancing 3-tier-architecture based on Java technology,
  • system stability on the webserver tier,
  • system stability on the application server tier,
  • system stability on the database tier through use of Oracle ‘Real Application Cluster (RAC)’,
  • system stability within the storage area.

Our users will benefit through even better performance and reliability.

The server systems are operated by German broadband carrier and data center provider QSC. Not only do they provide reliable operating services, but also ‘bandwidth on demand’.

Thus nothing can stop our further growth ;)

Announcement of System Maintenance

We expand our server capacities. As a consequence our website will not be reachable starting Sunday, 04.03.2007 5 p.m. till Monday morning.

This does not effect any slideshow embedded on MySpace, on blogs or other websites. They will keep on running without disruption.

We kindly ask for some understanding.
